This month we celebrate the power of Understanding. Spiritual Understanding wells up from within through intuition and inspiration. Spiritual Understanding is different from intellectual understanding. While intellectual understanding is important in life, there are things that we simply cannot intellectually understand. We must seek to find greater understanding and meaning by seeking spiritual Understanding.

Imagination—the Power for June, must be balanced with Understanding. Imagination can easily override Understanding, carrying one along an undesired path. It is important to quicken your faculty of Understanding as you utilize your Power of Imagination.

There is a bittersweet mystery about life. It is so immense and complex. I don't believe as humans we are meant to understand everything. When I try to think through big questions in my life, I find myself becoming overwhelmed and confused. I ask myself, What does it all mean?

For example—trying to understand war, hate, why someone leaves my life. These are times I must let go of my intellect and go within to find deeper answers.

Through prayer and meditation, I am able to let go of the questions, big and small. I am able to rest and know that life is an eternal and dynamic process. I need only trust that the flow and process of Life is supporting and sustaining me. It is only then, through the power of Understanding, that answers—big and small—are revealed to me. The light of Understanding enables me to see clearly and to take right action.

Your perception of life and all its mysteries can change for the good as you seek spiritual Understanding in your life. I invite you to reach beyond the intellect this month. As Proverbs 4:7 says, “With all thy getting, get understanding” (KJV).
