Cindy Wigglesworth, a leader in the field of spiritual intelligence, is one of the many inspiring speakers who will present at the 2010 People's Convention hosted by the Association of Unity Churches International in June.
Integrating Spiritual and Work Life
Wigglesworth is the founder of Conscious Pursuits, Inc., (CPI), an organization that provides coaching services and training to help organizations build spiritual and emotional intelligence to create values-driven workplaces. On June 9, Wigglesworth will co-present, with Rev. Karen Epps, senior minister at Unity Church of Dallas, “Operating From Expanding Circles of Compassion.” The workshop is designed to help Unity's leaders apply spiritual intelligence and spiral dynamics to their work and their lives.
The CPI Web site defines spiritual intelligence as "the development of certain skills … related to the ability to act with wisdom and compassion while maintaining inner an outer peace regardless of the circumstances. Spiritual intelligence is an innate human attribute that is made available to us if we are willing to ask for it and work to develop it.”
Wigglesworth and Epps will also incorporate information about Spiral Dynamics, a theory of human development through stages, into their presentation. The workshop will include activities to help participants identify each stage through music, videos and exercises.
CPI was founded on the belief that developing spiritual and emotional intelligence leads to more motivated, productive employees, resulting in reduced stress and improved performance. Wigglesworth believes these same concepts can be applied to one's spiritual community as well. “In a complex society filled with many value systems, we have to be able to hear others and communicate effectively,” she says. “These skills are useful at work, at home and at church.”
