Introduction
About the Course
Development of the Unity Movement offers both an exploration of Unity's history and an opportunity for learners to discover and nurture their own heart connection with Unity's teachings, and also with the cultural phenomenon we call “the Unity movement.”
Course Presentation
The course is presented in a self-paced format that allows learners to spend as much time as they need to engage the material at the depth they desire. Learners may take from a few weeks to six months to complete the course. Faculty will prepare a Learning Guide for each unit's work. The Learning Guide will include comments about the topic to be studied during the unit, as well as suggestions about what to look for in the assigned readings.
Online presentation of classic Unity videos and lectures will enrich the class presentation.
Learners will present several essays for evaluation by the instructor, complete online quizzes to check their factual knowledge, have the option of participating in an online discussion forum, and may ask questions of and communicate with the instructor through e-mail.

Requirements for Learners
Complete Assigned Readings
The reading assignments will not be overly lengthy. However, the nature of the material requires careful reading and reflection. Reading about related topics in the recommended texts will enhance your understanding of the material but is not required.
Listen to/View Web-based Presentations
The work of some units will include listening to portions of classic Unity lectures and/or viewing classic Unity videos. Learners will be able to view or listen using any web browser and any personal computer equipped with speakers or headphones.
Essays
Learners present several essays through the online Exam Center for evaluation by the instructor, and receive detailed feedback on what they have presented.
Unit Quizzes
A brief multiple-choice quiz will be part of each unit. The primary purpose of the unit quizzes is to check and strengthen learners' understanding of the course material. Learners may re-take each exam as many times as necessary to successfully complete it.
Optionally Participate in Online Discussions
Several questions will be posted in the discussion forum for each unit. Since this is a self-paced course, where learners will be completing units and visiting discussion forums at different times, participation in discussion forums is optional but encouraged. Learners moving through the course at the same time may engage in a give and take discussion with each other through the discussion forums. It is also possible that a learner's posting may receive a response months after it has been posted.. Learners are invited to post a response to discussion questions and to respond to other learners' postings as they feel inspired.
Online Final Exam
The course concludes with a multiple choice/true false online exam. Questions on the final exam will be similar to questions on the unit quizzes.

However, these practices are essential to your understanding and realization of the truths. You may discover that this is your most fulfilling work during the course.
Web Research:
Searching the Web for related information is highly encouraged, and we hope you will share the fruits of your research with the instructor and others taking the course.
