PASSAGE: "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).
QUESTION: Someone gave me an unusually strange interpretation saying it was God inspired.
COMMENT: Solomon has just built and dedicated the Great Temple in Jerusalem, as an affirmation of the might of his kingdom and the greatness of their God. This passage constitutes the Lord speaking to Solomon in appreciation of the work he and the people have done. Metaphysically, it is a clear statement of spiritual law. If we turn to the Lord—the Christ Presence within us—as our Source, humbling ourselves by releasing human demands and limitations to that the Power of God can flow freely through us, then it will go well with us. We "turn away" from our evil ways when we dissolve fears, judgments and thoughts of limitation and allow our choices to be sourced from our innate Christ awareness.
Blessings!
