Richard Mekdeci, Association of Unity Churches International music liaison, has served on this team in one form or another since its inception in 1996. After 5 years providing music and special programs to Unity Village retreatants, he is now President of EmPower Music & Arts and works at the Association home office producing the Sound Connections newsletter and Music Conferences, along with new songbooks and resources for music ministries.

Sue Riley, Team Chair, has chaired the Ministry Team for 7 years amassing a substantial body of music for our ministries through the “Songs from a World Awakening” songbook series. Sue has been the music director at Unity Church of Clearwater for more than 20 years. She is VP of EmPower Music & Arts, and an instructor at the Summer Songs songwriting camps.

Jennifer Ferren is serving her fifth year as a team member of the Unity Music Ministry Team. As a New Thought recording artist with multiple original CD projects, she travels as both a guest speaker and guest musician when she is not performing at her own local church, Unity Christ Church Kennesaw, acting as the Music Ministry Director. She continues to enjoy providing assistance and support for the New Thought Music movement by helping facilitate the annual Unity Sound Connections and Empower Posi Awards conferences.

Melinda Wood-Allen, music and chorale director at Unity of Fort Worth, Texas, leads a thriving 70-voice choir. She was classically trained in Europe and now sings professionally in a variety of musical styles, including jazz, rock, country, musical theater, and pop.

Blair Tabor is Senior Minister at Christ Church Unity in San Diego, California.

Carole Tomhave is Music Minister at Unity Church of Fairfax, VA and leader of “New Day” vocal ensemble.

Todd Lowry is Music Director at Unity Spiritual Center of Albuquerque, NM and former music attorney for Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation.

Fred Bogert is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, recording engineer, and record producer of multiple Grammy-nominated projects.

David Ezell taught band for 2 years and orchestra for 36 years in Columbia, South Carolina and is now a retired orchestra director. He is also the Music Director at Unity of Columbia, and the founder of Heartwind Music Publishing company.
